Our mission
We take our lead from the prophet Micah's call to "do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God" (Micah 6:8). That shapes the three things we care about most: justice, hospitality and growth. In all of it, Jesus shows us the way.
Justice
Collins Street engages with the issues facing our neighbours, both across the city and around the world. We speak up publicly on questions of equity, build relationships with those around us, and make room for honest conversation, all in the hope of a more just and welcoming society.
Hospitality
Ours is a church with open doors, and God's welcome sits at the heart of everything we do. We keep two gathering spaces, the Verandah Cafe at the front and the Green Room at the rear, and we take part in the life of the city through events like White Night, the Arts Festival and the Film Festival. Our own Feast, Pray, Love art prize and exhibition explores faith in everyday life.
Growth
We support one another in a faith grounded in the way of Jesus, with room for every kind of starting point and every stage of the journey. Worship, bible study and small communities of mutual encouragement are where much of that growing happens.
